About the Artist

Making art was my favorite childhood hobby—acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, you name it. But life moved on, and the brushes were put away.

In early 2025, amidst the chaotic, beautiful early days of motherhood, I found my way back to a piece of myself I hadn't realized I was missing. As a stay-at-home mom to two toddlers, I started carving out quiet pockets of time during naps and bedtimes to create. What began as a return to an old passion quickly grew, and I built this space to share that journey with you.

What I Make

My work is deeply rooted in nature—landscapes, seascapes, and coastal scenes. I am drawn to the kinds of places that make you feel something before you can fully explain why: a lonely stretch of coastline, a hillside catching the first light of day, or the heavy, quiet weight of an overcast sky over open water.

I paint from both reference and imagination, using color expressively rather than literally. My goal isn't to perfectly reproduce a specific coordinate on a map, but rather to capture how a place feels—the lightness of an open field, the depth of still water, and the fleeting quality of light that exists for just a few minutes before disappearing.

While my primary medium is traditional oil painting, I also create digital oil paintings. I developed this digital workflow to maintain a rich, painterly quality, allowing me to offer fine art prints at an accessible price point for everyday homes. Both mediums live together here at Artvellea.

Why This Matters

I launched Artvellea at the start of 2025—eight months pregnant, chasing a toddler, and running entirely on creativity and a lack of sleep. Today, the work has deepened into something far beyond what I initially expected.

Oil painting found me at exactly the right moment. It is a slow, layered, and unforgiving medium—and those are the exact qualities that make it so rewarding. It demands a level of presence that I simply couldn't ignore.

I believe that original art belongs in real homes to evoke emotion, anchor a room, and start conversations. I created this space for anyone looking to bring something deeply meaningful into their own environment.
